Verb Tense Grid

 

At RLC, we usually teach as follows: 

    Simple Present                                            - Level 1A 

    Present Continuous & Simple Past        - Level 1B 

    Past Continuous                                         - Level 2B 

    Present Perfect                                           - Level 3A

    Present Perfect Continuous                    - Level 3B

    Past Perfect                                                 - Level 4A

    Past Perfect Continuous                          - Level 4B

Those are the usual ones we see. The futures tend to be understandable as we move down the grid. We also see the difference between the different types of futures ("be going to" and other tenses for futures) between levels 2 and 3.
