This video is long but she explains everything I'd like to share with you. I really recommend listening to it. Personally I watched it when I was on my elliptical machine, you can do it when you're doing a big load of dishes or something.
This is why I ask you to "what have you done to learn English this week?" and try to teach you how to decipher things logically, because you won't have me forever and doing that is going to help you much more than simply looking for the translation.
She mentions some of the tips I give you, like surrounding yourself with English, on your phone, your computer... As I like to say "the immersion happens in your head, not necessarily in the physical world". She also mentions the importance of taking notes, which is why I don't really trust a student that doesn't take notes 😅
She also talks about how as advanced learners often we think we know something from "beginner" level so we don't bother to review our possible mistakes there. This is something I see frequently. Often I'll have a learner that's maybe already in the B2 level or even higher, and we still need to review the difference between simple present and present continuous, or certain prepositions, or the nuance between a couple of similar words. This is not a comment to say "ohlala c'est pas bien" 😅 It's to highlight the fact that we would benefit from taking a step back and scrutinizing what we think we know and master.
How about you try to summarize in simple ways parts of the video, in the comments, to share with lower-level learners? It would be a good exercise for your comprehension and will help you retain the information :)
